Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Launch
About
The Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine is a 3-axis machine, meaning all three of its axes (X, Y, and Z) move simultaneously to machine a part. You can mill a variety of complex, functional parts using 3-axis machining strategies, but there are limitations, so having the option to add another axis (the A-axis) to the machine is huge! A 4-axis machine makes parts with more complex geometries more attainable.
The Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Launch consisted of three major components:
The Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine with 4th axis compatibility
Making the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine 4th-axis compatible is a superpower we’d been wanting to give users for some time and it’s definitely an option that many users had been asking for. With a 4-axis machine users are able to quickly and easily connect the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Accessory to the machine. The accessory is also fully integrated with the Bantam Tools Milling Machine Software.
While the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis is beginner-friendly, we knew 4-axis machining would be new for a lot of people. In talking with our customers, I knew there had been a desire for educational courses. Traditionally, we’ve made technical documentation a priority when launching new products. But for this accessory, it was evident we needed to create an educational course. I was the editorial lead and later the manager of the project team that was tasked to create the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Course.
Responsibilities
Education Project Team Lead: I was the editorial lead and later the project manager for the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Course. To bring this course to market, I worked closely with the responsible engineer and software developer for the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Accessory. Being in close communication with them gave me the insights I needed to create content for the lessons that would help users build the fundamentals of 4-axis machining.
Support Documentation: In developing the content for the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Course, I also wrote public-facing user documentation that users would need to operate and maintain the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Accessory.
FAQ Messaging: As with all product launches, I created an FAQ complete with anticipated questions and answers. The goal of this document is to help our team stay on brand when speaking with current and prospective customers. It also gives us a place to track common questions and identify content we may need to make to provide more clarity and/or proof.
Marketing Materials: I designed inserts that would ship with every Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis. This insert pointed to documentation in our Support Center so they could start learning more.
Product Copywriting: Based on branding discussions, I wrote the copy for all products and bundles released during the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 4th Axis Launch. Here are some examples:
Website Copy & Design: Based on branding discussions, I wrote copy for our website and designed new pages to tell the story of these products and provide information about them.
