Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Getting Started Course
The Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Getting Started Course was designed to help users learn fundamental CNC knowledge and workflows on the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine and in the Bantam Tools software. The machine is designed to be used right out of the box, but CNC machining comes with a learning curve. Our goal was to help users get over the initial hump and milling. In the course users get guided, hands-on experience machining 2D designs and 2.5D parts using SVGs (scaled vector graphics).
Launching this course enabled us to expand our training/educational offerings. With the release of this course, we launched the following products:
Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Getting Started Course
Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Getting Started Kit
Bantam Tools Desktop CNC 3-Axis Skill Builder Bundle
Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Deluxe Skill Builder Bundle
Responsibilities
Project Lead: Initially, I was the lead copywriter for this project, but quickly became the project manager for the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Getting Started Course. I was responsible for setting deadlines, content freezes, and testing.
Content Creator: As the lead copywriter for this project, I built off existing support content and created completely new content for this course. Additionally, I scripted videos for the course and starred in several of these videos. This was the first time I had been in front of the camera and it was a challenging and worthwhile experience. Getting to work closely with our executive video producer gave me new insights into visual storytelling.
Email Marketing: Wrote emails for the launch and post-launch phase of the course to help build awareness and give insight into what the course was about.
Content Editing & Proofreading: I took the feedback from user testing to make developmental edits to the course and then in then just before launch I proofread the content to ensure clarity and quality.
Publicity and Launch: I created a launch plan for the course that included a mix of social media posts, emails, and website updates. I also worked with a contract publicist to build press around the course.
